The Piaggio Museum and the Chocolate Valley
Pontedera is few km far from Pisa only. Literary it is the engine of the territory as in 1884 Rinaldo Piaggio founded the Piaggio that started producing the famous Vespa scooter in 1946.
In the 2000 the Piaggio Museum was born in Pontedera to celebrate the rich collection of scooters such as the one signed by Dalì.
The countryside around Pontedera’s nickname is ‘Chocolate Valley’ where there is a productive district of chocolate with top excellent ones internationally recognized.
The most prestigious companies open the doors of their factories to can visit and taste the Maîtres Chocolatiers’ masterpieces.
